Ribe, Denmark - Lightweights Geir Ingen Joergensen, 28-2, and Tommi Schmidt, 6-3, headlined a small show sanctioned by the "pirates", the GBA, German Boxing Association, who of course also have their own world title, the GBC and the vacant 135 lb title was at stake. Joergensen won a split decision after twelve hardfought rounds on scores of 116-113 and 117-113 and 114-113 for Schmidt. It was first announced as if Schmidt had won but it was then discovered that one judge had gotten the corners wrong - on top of that this judge was first timekeeper but the became judge when the real judge didnīt show up, thus the supervisor became the timekeeper and the promoter-supervisor.
