Solis was definitely ahead up till the knockdown

    I have calculated the round:

    Solis
    0:12 left to the face
    1:01 overhand right
    1:22 left hook

    Klitschko

    2:24 right to the body
2:55 right to the head (I have watched carefully, Solis' glove doesnt' block)

Solis seemed to be the more dangerous, so he might get a favour because of aggression. Vitali couldn't get a jab through. I will leave what happened after the last punch landed to other threads, but IMO Solis was taking round 1.

Solis did more in that first round than any of Vitali's opponent been able to do since the Lewis fight.

I want to see the fat Cuban back in the ring asap.

Yes I do agree that Solis was marginally ahead in the round.

Only slightly tho, and Klitschko was coming on.

Besides, getting knocked down and hurt clearly changes the dynamic of the round.

a Round is 3 minutes in length, and in that regard Solis lost both the round and the fight.

solis landed more than that, he landed some body shots of his own and another flush counter right, you score by clean punches landed, he clearly was winning but that means squat when he'd been knocked down, which i think was legit, just the leg problem didn't let him continue, the ref should've just let him walk to his corner as the round was over

a minute of pressure off your leg after those sprains help

vitaly also landed a couple of left hooks. He also landed a few the jabs though most were blocked it was a competitive round. It wasn't as if solis was dominating you can tell he felt vitaly's power early on when he landed the first left hook. This is just from what i remember on my first viewing though, so i could be wrong.

Solis did a lot better than I expected but that injury was very telling.

Ive had that same injury multiple times and it usually comes from a grueling sports activity after a week of inactivity. Solis did not take his training seriously and paid the ultimate price.

please re-read the thread title, I said "Up Till The Knockdown"

It was obvious Solis wasn't no pushover up till the "knockdown", but Solis couldn't continue because of a injured knee.
