any chance on this fight being ruled a no contest?

Is there any chance of this happening?
This fight ending up as a "KO" is ridiculous. The punch that vitali threw was blocked so to say that the "knockdown" was caused by a punch is ridiculous.

Also, shouldn't the ref given solis a chance to walk off any possible pain he was feeling as he got up (atm it was pretty obvious that he was in pain) kind of like last year when the same happened to foreman?

What the ref did in the Cotto-Foreman fight was the exception. It was unusual.

What the ref did in this fight is STANDARD. You have to show the ref that you can continue. He was looking down at his leg, asking for the stoppage and it happened.

And NO - This is officially a TKO, it's not Vitali's fault the other guy couldn't continue. No contests happen in accidental headbutts that cause cuts.

    GET OVER IT.

nah, the ref ruled it a kd, thus if you cant continue after a kd = loss

if he had ruled it a injury, could've been a nc

vitali vs Byrd should be NC too. Vitali vs Lenox should also be NC.

        Vitali = GOAT

        Undefeatable. Never lost a round.

The only one this becomes a No Contest is if they rule that Odlanier Solis is found to have taken a dive or what have you. However, that's not what usually happens, so it's unlikely.

As far as the referee letting him walk it off, the only time that happens is when a leg gives out on them, a low blow or rabbit punch causes the pain or a fighter gets his hand caught in the rope or something along those lines. If it's just based on a knockdown, then he's not required to let the fighter walk it off.

This was a horrible situation. Can't blame Vitali, though. He did his job and got the stoppage. Awful, but it happens.

The KD itself was not caused by a punch. But Solis got wobbly legs after the punch and thus twisted his knee.

            Legit KO.

                no contest? lol
no chance, it was the punch that sent him down. vitali would've destroyed him in round 2, solis was wobbled bad.

Exactly, Solis used his slick head movement to block the punch with his temple.

no contest.. only occur in stuff like accidental headbutts in etc.

if a fighter gets injured, and it was not caused by anything illegal, and he cannot continue... its a LOSS..

vitali won, no iff's and's or b utts
