that damn golota is always getting title shots how much do u think don king is taking from golota to give him so many title shots. golota is purely sorry but when ever u forget about him he's in the news again getting a title shot even when he loses his last fight. and he's always on hbo and showtime those shows should be designated for upcoming stars and stars, and for fighters that have a good fan base. i mean come on how u going to lose twice in a row to rid**** bowe and very next fight u get a wbc title shot with lennox lewis. even tyson in 90s after the douglas fight didnt get that honor he had to go threw elimination bouts.and then in 2004 lose to john ruiz which is sorry and for the wba title.and the fight before that have a title shot against chris byrd for the ibf. and his last fight with brewster for the wbo. if thats not don kings hold and corruption on boxing i dont know what is. thats why boxing isnt a big sport right now cause king is playing god with the fights cause they will give them alot more money then a regular greedy don king needs.and i think golota has a fight coming up on showtime if u guys seen golota hes not a great fighter or somer puncher hes never won against good ppl ever. i personally think dons butt ****ing andrew golota
what do u think king is doing for golota to get title shots

He lost to Rid**** Bowe twice on paper but dominated the **** out of him reality. Braindamaged him, ended his career. I used to say there was foul play involved in the Lewis Golota fight and that was the reason Golota was blown out early. I still hold to that for a variety of reasons. Golota was a monster back then. He showed no signs at all having a bad chin, but really a great chin, a f***King brutal jab excellent jab, movement, defence. He was a monster. Most boxing writers were picking Golota to beat Lewis in that fight. Seems after that fight he was never the same. George Foreman thought he was going to be the next dominant heavyweight champ.Last edited by McKaymania; 09-14-2005, 08:55 PM. -
About Golota getting the title shots. Alot of people like myself believed that Golota would come in and be the Golota of the 90's with the toughness the jab, all the tools and dominate. That is why he got the title shots.
He, like Tyson was living off the rep of earlier days. And he was a TV fighter from very early in his career on USA Tuesday night fights. So he was and is a very big name fighter at least in the United States.Comment

If you mention Golota around here in the Chicago area. The only thing people ever remember him for to this day is the fights with Bowe. That is people that dont really pay attention to boxing.Comment

as much as i used to love golota, he shouldnt get another title shot. look at his title shot history:
WBC: Lennox Lewis KO by 1.
IBF: Chris Byrd Draw.
WBA: John Ruiz Lost UD.
WBO: Lamon Brewster TKO by 1.
he had his chances at every title and blew them all. he should've stayed retired after the brewster fight.Comment

He is past his moment, but you can make a case for either his deserving the other shots or that (in Brewster's case) it was a good business move on King's part. He deserved the Bowe rematch and the Lewis fight. Being KO'd early by Lewis should and did not prevent him for being a legitimate contender to Byrd's paper title. He was still deserving when he fought Ruiz, and he was a good ticket attraction for and fresh meat to build some Brester hype. Actually the Golota fight was brilliant matchmaking for Brewster, and he would still be the top champ in most people's minds if he could have beaten Lyakovich.
But Golota now has nothing to offer, and even if King were to match him with Briggs it would not serve the same purpose as for Brewster.Comment

I should add that at the time of the Ruiz fight he had:
2 fights he was winning against Bowe
1 draw with Byrd which does little damage to his cred
only 1 real loss in that time (forget the Tyson debacle for a moment) which was against someone who had beaten everyone else as wellComment
