Well, three bums in a row for Cotto? Hardly the fighters to make someone a superstar, as you say he is...

Yeah, looks like higher gates Vegas can guarantee as opposed to stadium fights is making Arum reconsider staging fights outside of Vegas. But they can definitely charge higher prices for premium seats in Meadowlands or Yankees (keep the $50 ones) if they have a lineup of Coto, Margarito, Cintron, Barrera. Cotto just had his worst gate/attendance in years because he was away from his base which is the East Coast.

I know the Nevada commission wouldn't be ****** enough to turn down 2 huge Margarito fights in a row, but I hope they deny him his license. Won't happen though since it sounds like the Bobfather is already greasing the wheels.

Oh well, guess I have to buy the card or catch it at a bar.

These promoters keep pimping off these guys names, their legacy, their fights from yester-year, their fan support, for one more BIG paycheck! Is it worth it? Look at Muhammad Ali, Tommy Hearns, even Holyfield now. They can barely talk. Keep putting these names beforementioned in the ring, and they'll all end up in the same sad place. We have plenty of great young, healthy talent in their primes to pay to see. We don't need to put these past their prime big names back in the ring, at the risk of their health or even life.
I see where you're coming from, but Barrera looked pretty impressive in his last fight against a solid but not great fighter, got a nice KO win. He doesn't show too many signs of wear and tear or brain damage, so as long as he doesn't take on any Maidanas or guys that can seriously hurt him, let him earn a check.

Oh damn, just remembered... he's fighting Rios isn't he?

What, Puerto Ricans can't disrespect Margarito in Vegas(other than booing)? I know, they can but won't. Fool! LOL!

Vegas is a much better option. There are 140 million Mexicans and only 8 million Puerto Ricans. Boxing is a bu$iness.

this cotto is a poor imitation of that cotto, and margarito ruined that cotto and left him a shell - so he'll be more than capable of taking him apart without having to cheat....

cotto's not strong enough to hold margarito off, and the pressure will tell.... it may well be cotto's last ever fight.
Okay, so you didn't watch the fight I take it.

Cotto was boxing Margarito's face off for 6 1/2 rounds prior to one plaster-filled shot busting Cotto's nose. One punch power is never something Margarito has had, as has been evidenced since having the bricks removed. After that, Cotto couldn't breath. That's why he ran out of gas. No oxygen to replenish lost energy equals insta-fatigue.

And as far as being the same guy he was before: If Cotto isn't the same, what do you call Margarito after getting blasted by Mosley and shredded by Pacquiao? His face was like deli meat after Pac.

Cotto won't be drained, Margarito won't have an unfair weapon, and it will be a war. A war that Cotto should win with Steward in his corner.

Agree 100%. Cotto was fatigued to shyt against Margarito. I think he was trying to take an 8 count breather and his corner threw in the towel. Cotto is not one to pull a Chavez and whine into a microphone for 5 minutes about how he was "about to start winning...." until my corner threw in the towel. He is too cool for that drama.

It's actually embarrassing for Margarito that with plaster wraps, all he could do was tire Cotto out after 9 rounds of fighting with a busted nose and breathing through his mouth.

Rematch will expose Margarito once and for all. A cheater who made millions endorsing Plaster Of Paris.
