Well McClellan was Eubank's mandatory but chose to drop back down to 160 to fight Julian Jackson instead. Just like Roy Jones was Nigel Benn's WBC mandatory at exactly the same time but chose to drop back down to 160 to fight for the vacant IBF title instead.

First off. Benn never fought for the IBF title and if you are talking about Jones....he fought Bernard Hopkins for the vacant IBF title.

Yeah I'm talking about Jones ofcourse. He was Benn's WBC mandatory before dropping back down in weight and fighting for the vacant IBF title against an unknown opponent.

Ok and looking back on that.....I think that was a good thing. Ducking Benn to fight Hopkins? LOL. Thats like ducking Carlos Maussa so you can fight Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Hopkins > Benn any day of the week.

Lol! Give me a break. Hopkins wasn't very good, he had a few USBA title fights but didn't look very good and was very unknown. Benn on the otherhand was a much harder puncher with much more natural talent than Hopkins, and much more able to KTFO Jones.

Did Benn defend the middleweight title 20 times? and I said look at it in retrospect.

Take away blown-up little guys and what you have got on Hopkins resume? No offence to the guy but he hasn't fought an Iran Barkley or a Chris Eubank or a Gerald McClellan. Hopkins defended his title against Robert Allen three times, who's that? And Howard Eastman's hero's were Benn/Eubank/Watson and Eastman says that he wouldn't put himself in that bracket, and Hopkins ran alnight against ****ing Eastman.

I suppose you share other people's views on him only having beaten "little guys". Sure. That is why Trinidad was the first person to stop Willaim Joppy in his FIRST fight at middleweight. That is why he decimated Vargas at 6 pounds south at 154 right?

oh and this just in DLH holds a win over the top ranked european middleweight let me remind you.
