Comments Thread For: Giovani Segura on The Calderon Fight, The Rivalry, More

Their clash came during an August reprisal of one of the longest and most contentious rivalries between two of boxing's premiere countries in the sport, this, when hard-punching, Mexican-born, 28-year-old, WBA junior flyweight king, Giovani Segura, of Bell Gardens, Calif., ventured into Coliseo Mario 'Quijote' in Guaynabo, the Puerto Rican hometown of the previously unbeaten southpaw 35-year-old WBO king Ivan Calderon.

It's hard enough to fight a presure fighter with power like Segura. To do it while at age 35 and with no power is nearly impossible. If Segura is able to make weight with somewhat minimal troubles, he'll KO Calderon again. If Calderon was 25, he would have a chance; at 35, his chances are very minimal!

So................Satterfield mentions(including the why and how) that Pac is called the "Mexicutioner" in an article about NONITO DONAIRE and then says Calderon didn't get up because of body shots when Calderon himself says he could've gotten up but quit because he had taken too much punishment and wanted to fight again someday. Boxingscene, you guys have a great website, don't expose yourselves like HBO does with their bias. Make your money but be professional. Mexicans are great money makers for everybody in the boxing community-- remember that. Geez.

Anyways, I hope Calderon's idiotic corner doesn't let him take too much punishment this time if he's losing. How the hell was this kid supposed to turn a fight he was losing around against a murderous puncher with a solid chin when he has no power? Pendejos. Let's hope that whoever wins does so by 1st round KO by BODYSHOT. That ways all go home without injury and or punishment and still make some $weet ca$h.

Lem Satterfield is a joke! This time he twice said Calderon when he meant to say Segura. And the above poster is right. He constantly slants articles and misinforms the fans with his biased statements. He's as bad as Jim Lampley...
