Damn you guys have a short attention span, seems you forgot he's 3-1-1 in his last 5 fights. Even though he probably shoulda gotten the win, Martinez had a pretty damn close fight with Kermit "the Frog" Cintron FFS!
Honestly maybe I'm a little spoiled but I haven't been impressed since the Hatton KO. Martinez has been whipping butt of late and deserves the top spot right now. Manny had the top spot in the past for stuff he did back then. But now we are in the present and Martinez has fought the better quality of opponents. All Pac has to clear all doubt from my mind is meat Sergio at 154 however.

In my mind, if I settle in on welterweight, he wouldn't be the best. So for right now, he is the best because I'm not at that weight. I'm not knocking him, but he's never proved himself to me. He's never fought me."
Ok Pac ducked P.will....5'6" pacquiao ducked 6'2" P.will...a guy who just got ****ing exposed to hell.

Ahh, so you are a bandwagoner, you care more about the past year than the past 2, 3, 5?

LOL I'm a boxing fan I don't ride 1 guys bandwagon. What is this college basketball?

So there are height limits now in boxing? I thought it was done by weight? Hold up ain't Margaritto only two inches shorter than PW?

Martinez's last 2/3 opponents were better than Pac's last 3 (if you're already counting Mosley). I'm sorry but Pac beating Cotto > Martinez beating Pavlik/Williams IMO. Clottey/Marg are of the same class as Pavlik/Williams as well.

Bandwagoning is all about "what have you done for me lately" which is what your whole argument is based on. Like I said, you're free to cry about Pac not fighting P.will but that is as much of a miss-match as Pac/Martinez is. That fight wouldn't be about skill, rather, size and only size.

He has not lost since the first Morales bout. Say what you want about the bigger opponents he has faced.. but he has dismantled each one. He embarrassed a ppv legend (oscar).. he put hatton to sleep.. he had cotto running.. he had clottey hiding.. and he had margarito back down. No other fighter has destroyed the above fighters in such embarrassing fashion before.. and this is a beating from a fighter who came from the lower weight classes.

Martinez is giving us good fights, but you are letting that cloud your judgement. His last three fights have been against good fighters Pavlik/P Will/Dizzy.. however, not one of those fighters are even HOF material. I am not questioning Martinez being a good fighter.. he is one of the most exciting fighters out right now, but what has he done to even be compared to Pacquiao in terms of skill/resume?

Mayweather, one of the greatest fighters I have ever seen, has been garbage for a while now and is irrelevant at this point in time. Pacquiao, on the other hand, always tries to give the fans a show.. always presses the action (instead of coasting to a UD.. which he can).. remains humble.

Pacquiao was criticized for not defending his belts/clean up the lower divisions.. Now that he is cleaning up the WW division he is criticized. If he faced Bradley/Alexander/Maidana/Khan.. instead of Cotto/Clottey/Tony. If after the Oscar fight, he went down to JR. WW and cleaned up the 140 lb'ers.. he'd be accused of picking on the smaller fighters and ducking Cotto/Clottey/Tony/Mayweather (he is currently being accused by some of ducking Martinez at 154, because he won a farce of a belt there). It's a lose/lose situation.

PW was p4p before he got KTFO by Martinez. Cotto/Clottey/Cheatto were never P4P. Mosley is acceptable if he has something left.

There's no doubt in my mind who would win if they were the same size, Pac.
