    Blame it on Koncz

I remember a while ago reading reports that the only reason Nonito was being barred from appearing on Pac's undercards was because he turned down Koncz demand that he be signed to MP Promotions (that Koncz runs) and have him as his 'adviser'. Finally found an article:
Koncz responsible for Donaire not being on Manny's undercard

Donaire: ‘I’ve got no beef with Pacquiao’

Hot Filipino fighter Nonito Donaire confirmed that there was no animosity between himself and nation favourite Manny Pacquiao.

Rumours had been circulating that the fellow countrymen did not see eye to eye after Team Pacquiao had blocked Donaire from appearing on the undercard of Pacquiao’s recent clash with Mexican Antonio Margarito.

But speaking from his training camp for his upcoming bantamweight title fight with Fernando Montiel, Donaire told Boxingscene.com that the move had been made by Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz without the pound-for-pound boxing king’s knowledge.

‘Koncz was disappointed in me not signing with him. He approached me and I said no.'

‘I have no grudge. For me, I’m here, I’m still going to fight. I’m pleased to be fighting with Montiel. I wish it was on Manny’s undercard. Regardless of what goes on, the man [Pacquiao] is busy,’ said Donaire.

Doanire’s view has supposedly been backed up by Top Rank boss Bob Arum, who revealed yesterday that it was indeed Knocz that asked him to keep the Filipino Flash off the bill.

He just cost Top Rank one of their future money-makers. Why does this guy exist? What does he have on Arum and Pac that they keep around despite constant **** like this?

Maybe, but Nonito (or I should say Rachel) made it clear, even before the GBP contract, that they wanted to be on a Pacquiao card. Knowing that his contract was expiring soon and that Pac won't be around forever and he needs someone to step up and absorb that fan base, why would Arum be so against putting Nonito on ONE Pacquiao undercard?

cause pac wants all the money and nonito would probably have to take a huge paycut to be on pac's undercard?

There maybe animosity and it's all Michael Kockz's fault but Kockz was right about one thing he said about placing Nonito in their undercards which jeopardizes the income generated because of two big names in it.

I believe the avenue where spite played on Kockz and he had the perfect technicality to justify it and make the Donaires the crybabies.

Kockz is really making his space really smaller with every BS he makes.

I have no doubt that within the 3 years he's been with top rank, Nonito would have fought for peanuts on a Pacquiao undercard. No doubt about it. And it's not like he was making a ton of money either, he made some good cash against Montiel, but that was a big fight. He's fought a lot of guys no one has ever heard of on the way to that and his fight purses typically weren't that big to begin with.

i think you're right...nonito is a main event card fighter himself...it does make sense to sell his and pac's fights separately...both of them have fans drawing power anyway

it's a short term way of thinking though. If Arum would have put Donaire on a Pac undercard once or twice in the past couple years, Donaire would have been exposed to a lot more people. Gotta think big. Sometimes arum doesn't do that
