It was half question, half statement, and translates as

I think he would have welcomed the fight up until he faced Margs.

i think he's analyzing the fight, and what moves he would have made if he were fighting martinez.
even watching his own fight with hatton, he was glued to the tv. probably learning from his mistakes and evaluating the fight.

but in all honesty, i think by his expression it looks like "hey maybe i could take him after all... just maybe"
