Horrible loss for TR but great gain for GBP. I'd like to see Donaire fight the winner of Mares-Agbeko.

I usually like fighters with Arum more but Donaire is established and GBP has or will promote with the best fighters around that division

i thought donaire's contract runs till june 2011 with top rank with a 1 year option? hopefully, gbp is not jumping the gun too soon or i smell another bitter court dispute between top rank and gbp.

BIG mistake on Donaire part, probably not his decision anyways since we all know who wears the pants in his family. The man had fights with JuanMa, Gamboa, etc lined up. Who the hell besides Mares (if he wins) and Moreno (assuming he signs) is he going to fight from bantam-featherweight w/ GBP?

            Perplexing...

there are markers in his contract that were not met and mistakes made by TR that effectively made the contract null and void from what I have been told

Exactly my thoughts! I'm a bit shocked at this since I would think that Donaire would love to meet those two fighters on his rise to the top, and eventually take over Pac once Pac retires. Now it's hard to tell how Donaire's future fights will turn up and with who???

But I do wish him the best and hopefully he got paid big by Oscar.

He will face subpar comp, but atleast he can't try and blame it on Arum.
Wow!!! Are you really on Top Rank's payroll? I understand nuthugging a fighter but nuthugging a promoters too!!! Damn..

Golden Boy has jumped the gun a few times. I remember they sent out a release signing Diego Corrales and it turned out to be bull**** and Corrales had a contract, the same thing with Juan Diaz who went with Don King and the same thing with Victor Ortiz, which they had to settle out of court and Top Rank gets a percentage off Ortiz because the court found that his TR contract was valid.

yeah i read that donaire is complaining about that. his top rank contract stipulates 3 fights a year but he only got to fight once a year.
