    New HBO monthly boxing show.

The word is that Greenburg was proposed a new series that will air on HBO2 as a monthly series, focusing in on young, up-and-coming talent. The license fee for this program will be approximately $150,000 per show. It seems like a pretty good idea on the surface; more boxing (whether it’s on an upstart network or an established one) is never a bad thing. It provides more opportunities for fighters to work and showcase their abilities.

It's a really good idea, I just wonder what day of the week it will air and what they name it.

2 a month would have been better but beggars can't be choosers.

Sounds like KO Nation to me~ although I guess they could just throw Mexicans on there and probably be able to make it worthwhile.

lol I guess HBO does read the e-mails we send in. I sent in an idea similar to this as to where they need a platform to make these young prospects more accessible to the fans. This is basically the same as Showtime's Shobox for up and coming boxers right?

what they need s a sports show ala the sunday morning football shows, or MMA LIVE, or some **** like that. omg up-and-coming fighters infomercials will get higher ratings.

Now is this featuring live fights or kinda like a doucmentary show? Either way, good stuff. They need a "Inside the nfl" type show for boxing though. That'd be sweet. Look at each division, talk about unknown fighters, fighters coming up.

I agree with the other posters: a show like Sportscenter or MMA live to dicuss upcoming fights and fighters to EDUATE CASUAL FANS on boxing so they can CARE about the fights and their outcomes is what is really needed.

The last thing we need is another Showbox/FNF

I agree that we need a weekly recap show that not only covers HBO boxing but all of boxing.

I disagree though that this show would be pointless. This show is paying 150k per show, from what I understand Shobox pays 50k-75k around there and FNF's pays 25k-40k. This is exactly the platform that's needed to put on good fights between prospects and contenders but between guys who are too small time for B.A.D and take hard fights that wouldn't make sense on FNF's, I just hope the HBO makes these promoters make relevant fights.

Perfect fights for a show like this would be Mercito Gesta vs. John Molina.

Last time we had a network paying around 150k a show it was Versus and uncle Bob ****ed that show up by featuring Tye Fields and Hasim Rahman.
