i did an article on gomez a year ago and got an email fomr a cab driver basically saying he hoped Gomez would fight corrales or morales aty lightweight so he got his head knocked off.

Apparently they (gomez + mates) were being ****heads on this geezers cab you can fill in the blanks.

Ive met Sugar Ray Leonard. He promotes here. Kind of full of himself but what else is expected? I'd be full of myself too.

I know Iceman had a story about him as well and said he was a good guy. I can buy that, but he certainly makes you hate him the way he struts around. There are a number of great fighters that don't come off on camera like they're so in love with themselves.

I quickly lost interest noce I realized they weren't going to show the full fights. Hopefully ESPN will correct this.

The show was way too heavy on the melodrama and the Sly and Sugar Ray worship. And I think there was a lot of shiftiness going on besides brining Manfredo back. In the ring, the fighters' behaviour just didn't look right sometimes. A lot of unconvincing showboating going on, as if they had been coached.

All reality shows are fixed in some way. People have to realize that.

PBF is quite full of himself but he has the skill to back it up, just as RJJ did in his prime! It's all part of the gameplan! I'd have to give my vote to Calzaghe, just because he is spineless and ducks anyone and everyone.

I agree with this! They were promoting the "Next Great Human Drama" and they forgot about the true meaning of the show --- BOXING! They need to focus more on training and the actual matches...and keep a small amount of the other bull that they showed last season. They also need to ditch those silly challenges. What fighter in his right mind would be doing that **** the day before a bout.

Funny thing is, despite my Sugar Ray bashing he seems to be the one pushing for this kind of change the most on the show. They had a press conference a few weeks back to announce the move to ESPN and while Sly and Mark Burnett were going on and on about the "human drama" element Ray said that he was hoping that they would emphasize boxing more. He said that he had heard from a lot of fans about this and that since they were now on a genuine sports network they would have more of an opporunitiy to showcase the sport.

Here's hoping this happens. I'm still a little skeptical about the genuineness of the show, though, but maybe ESPN will put more pressure on them to make it authentic.
