If this all happens in a years time Berto is EASILY pound 4 pound #1 fighter in the world. IN THE WORLD

    That's pretty much what's happening

It's probably along the lines of Bradley being number 10 with only one career fight at welter.

Berto is atleast a champion with some decent wins at welter under his belt.

The only good win he has is Luis colazo in the 3 years since he became champ and that win is disputed

        It shouldn't be that easy

Sadly I see the same path for canelo

I agree, it's a shame because nowadays up and coming fighters are being protected too much because there is too much money in the sport...

kinda like the guy in your photo before he fought Martinez, he was a title holder and was collecting wins against NO NAMES, then when he finally fought a good fighter he got exposed, the same thing could happen to Berto as well, but unlike others, Berto has actually been trying to fight THE BEST compared to others who only fight in their country against NOBODIES...no disrespect to anybody but I am just saying...

Jan Zaveck and Vyacheslav Senchenko hold Welterweight Belts as well, most people can't even name one fighter they have beat and those guys are OLDER fighters

Some are trying to push for a Berto vs Selcuk Aydin fight...this is he same Aydin that really lost to Jo Jo Dan, he also hold a BS Silver Belt and is the #1 Contender for the WBC title...ACCORDING to the WBC and he haven't fought ANYBODY other then Jo Jo Dan in a match I thought he lost

If Berto wasn't that good, people should be jumping at the opportunity to take his title but instead he is actually being AVOIDED

thus by process of elimination, berto is definitely #2 in a barebones division.

Yes the process of elimination is that the best eliminated each other while Berto sat back and rode his way to the top

He's had the belt for 3 years and never fought 1 guy...there was Floyd, PAC, Williams, cotto, marg, clottey, Mosley, and Cintron

But berto never fought even 1 of them

Cant hate on a true statement but what can Berto do to get respect. PAC choose not to fight him and just like everyone else ducked P. Williams. Berto I would have to agree beside the Quintana win and the given decision against collaza is very unproven. He has a title but no mandatories unless its in the 140 division. I really dont believe berto could beat Margarito today. HBO needs to step up and make him fight someone who can build his rep and stop giving him free money. He makes too much to fight no one. Kind of reminds me of AMIR KHAN.

If he would only step up and fight Kell Brock, Mike Jones or even rematch Collazo then he may get some respect. I give Bradley more credit than Berto because atleast bradley will call out one of the big names. Berto is content with getting paid the big HBO money and ducking the dangerous fights.

Mike Jones has limited skills IMO and hes ducking Mike Jones please. Collazo is older and with less activity it would look good to give that gift back to Santa.

I thought Collazo won that fight.

I give him portions of credit for Forbes, and Quintana.
Maybe even a bit for Urango even though he's a JW.

I give a bit of respect for wanting to fight Shane and Manny (even though he didn't).
