Don't believe the other guy who stated that he talked with Margarito about a rematch before bringing it to Cotto's attention. That is hogwash since this fight was being discussed way before Cotto signed to fight Mayorga...

Here's the deal: Cotto was at the press conference and barely starting talking about his victory over Mayorga earlier that evening and Arum blatantly cut him off right in the middle of a sentence and said "Look who we have here, Antonio Margarito" and brought him up to the podium. It was a complete slap in the face to Cotto who should have had more of his spotlight in the sun and Cotto looked furious. Also, Cotto refused to shake Margarito's hand and immediately turned around and left. Arum was being the scumbag promoter he is but he should have given Cotto time to talk and answer questions before bringing Margarito into the forefront. That is the reason, not what the other guy said...

I have to agree with this statement as well. Cotto has to be mighty pissed at Arum for cutting him off at the press conference with Margarito of all fighters. Now, he is playing a little hard to get because he wants to be paid good money. And I almost guarantee if Cotto didn't have a long term contract with Arum, he would be bolting and going elsewehere...

And regarding Cotto being scared, I have to laugh at that. You know he feels that Margarito cheated but being the gentlemen he wants to represent in public, he will never come out and say it. And if he gets in the ring with Margarito, he will know right away when he gets hit if it felt the same as before. Plus, take into consideration of how much better Cotto looks while being trained by Steward, along with Cotto never ducking any challenge, I just don't see him being scared of anyone...

Personally, I think Margarito might be washed up. He took one hell of a beating in two of his last three fights and I think that is a reason why he wants to go straight into a Cotto fight without a tune-up. Nobody knows what he has left but Pacquiao sure put a whipping on his ass and after both beatings from Pacquiao and Mosley, along with all the other wars he has had, do you think he has a full tank left for one more go? I have to seriously doubt it...

theres no proof.. just like theres no proof he didnt use plaster. However there is proof that he tried to cheat in the very next fight .. odds are it wasnt his first time cheating. But we will never know.. Unless they fight again.
