James Kirkland will face Jhon Berrio in an eight-round bout on the Telefutura card Friday in Costa Mesa, Calif.

Kirkland (26-0, 23 knockouts) is coming off a sensational 34-second knockout of Ashandi Gibbs on the Saul Alvarez-Matthew Hatton undercard on March 5 in Anaheim, Calif., Kirkland's first fight from a two-year hiatus from boxing.

Berrio (15-8, 11 KOs) has had some success in his native Colombia but is 0-4 outside the country, including a sixth-round knockout loss to Peter Manfredo in November in Lincoln, R.I.

Kirkland, a former junior middleweight contender, is also scheduled to fight on the Erik Morales-Marcos Maidana undercard on April 9. No opponent has been selected for that date.
