The reason for this article was this thread on another site.

I found it strange that Mayweather was rated so highly despite his inactivity and Martinez could not get a look in.

Because Pacquiao is dominating so much right now, his competition is summed as as mediocre....yet if he wasnt so dominant....people would say they are still huge big named dangerous opponents...

e.g. Mosley right now, is a terrible fight bla bla.... Yet hes probably the most dangerous out of all pacs last 3 opponents (Cotto was up there too)

Sergio beat Pavlik....Who hopkins also beat and looked pretty ****.....he beat Williams who ok is great with punch volume, and would be a threat to all Welterweights but not because of his skill...but more of his height and reach combined with punch volume....(was an amazing KO tho so fair enough)...

Pac is so great people are looking at his fights as if they are walk in the parks....

The fact is pac would dominate any1 from 140-147 bar mayweather, and he would probably KO every single 140 pounder without a doubt...

I brought up the last 7-8 years because if anything hes improved, and yet he beat all those legends when he wasnt as great as he is now...That kinda sums up the level pac is on

Thanks to all that are voting, glad to see some fans know what they are on about.

On that site because I think Pacquiao is p4p no.1, I get accused of being out of touch with reality by half the board.

Not my criteria for P4P, Martinez has been more consistent, has faced the tougher opponents as of late, to bring up last 7-8 years is hardly any different than comparing resumes, that's unfair.

Ok, but I spoke about the last few opponents hes faced....

We all know Pac is growing into a Welterweight now, but he still is by far the smaller man, Against Cotto...Clottey and Marg

And he still battered them, and now Mosley is his next opponent...

                      forget the 7-8 years then....

I dont think Martinez faught tougher opponents than pac...

He lost to Williams, and then Ko'd him, UD'd Kelly Pavlik and now beat Dzinziruk

Yet hes saying if pac doesnt put in a good performance he should be number 1.....

Personally i dont agree, fair enough everyones entitled to their opinions...but I really dont see how any1 could try say Pac isnt P4P number 1
