The point Larry is making is that Margarito and Martinez are similar in size. Yet Pac had no problem fighting Margarito.

You're right, its probably because Sergio hits too hard. And is fast. And slick. Not flat footed And doesnt fight with his face.

Its too big a risk. I honestly dont hold it against Pac

I heard HBO is planning to put Sergio in a PPV later this year. Is that true? I wonder how many buys since most casual fans probably watched Cotto vs Mayorga.

Than why are you having trouble with Martinez fighting Dawson?

          wow!

Pac is a little tiny Welterweight. Welterweight is his SEVENTH division. SEVENTH!
          SEVENTH!
          SEVENTH!
SEVENTH!...Do I need to say it again? SEVENTH!
Martinez is a MIDDLEWEIGHT for god's sake. Pacquiao is merely and All time great fighter who happens to possess tremendous skills, as well as physical gifts. Anything above 147 is pushing it. I know you guys like to bring up the Marg fight, but that fight was a joke in terms of Pac being able to fight at 154. Nevertheless, Margarito's style fits Pac's style perfectly.

Watch Marg-Cotto and Pac-Diaz (before Pac even moved up) and tell me Pac wouldn't outbox the sh.it out of Margarito (assume Pac never moved up in weight)

            So what?

After the Margo fight Pac said no more above 147. He learn his lesson, he got badly hurt for the first time in 5 years. Are you dense? Are you a moron?

Same size? Kobe is 6'6 and Evan turner is 6'6 but kobe weighs around 240 while Turner weighs around 215. Get it?

But i just cant understand why he doesnt have a bigger following. I mean he is one of the top 3 fighters in the world and is one of the most exciting fighters as well.

But TBH the only reason i went to that fight was to watch Dzinzurik and if he wasnt fighting Dzinzurik, i wouldnt have gone
Because he has an HBO booking agent instead of a promoter. If Martinez was with Arum, GBP, or even King, he'd be a big draw at this point in his career. But Dibella has no idea how to promote, he just gets dates from HBO, they tell him who Sergio's going to fight, he puts his signature on the paper and then calls other fighters bums and bad mouths real promoters after fights.

All Lou is doing now is trying to piggyback off of the work of real promoters who took the time to build up their fighters into megastars. Sergio is a P4Per with a fan-friendly style and matinee idol looks (aka an Argentinian DLH) but can hardly draw 4K people to his fights? Tells you he needs to reevaluate who he employs...

If he keeps looking impressive though he will get more notoriety, I like the Kirkland fight for him because that guy will always bring in fans with his style and I like him for Sergio because of all the punches he blocks with his face.
I first saw Sergio live when he fought in the Bronx on the undercard of Foreman-Tsurkan in 2007 and i was amazed how he wasnt a top fighter yet. I know Tsurkan and sat ringside and never saw such an athletic fighter live and knew he would be big. Just not as big as he is right now

That poor guy took an awful beating when he fought Angulo I am impressed he didn't go down after all the fighters Angulo has put down since.

honestly, i can't remember any big name fighter at the top of their game going in a fight knowing he has a little chance of winning. only bums, past prime fighters, young and upcoming fighters or good fighters with no fanbases would take such risk. but big names...it's most likely that they would seek to gain advantages than give it away.
