Sergio, get down to 150 and we've got a fight!!!
I doubt he can make 150lbs, and Pac looks for opponents thats have lost, looked bad in there last 2 fights, completely weak and drained. This fight will never happen just wishful thinking!

Naw, beating Pavlik for the belt, having one close fight and one 2nd round KO with Williams, and not being conclusively bested for 11 years running.

And the last guy he fought didn't come into the fight with 6 ****ING Losses.

martinez should fight at 168 or 175, he should go to a bigger guys just like pacquiao did, fighting small guys would not make him great, he must fight ward or bute if he has balls

When Pac fought Margarito, Martinez was already a middleweight. His last four fights have been at middleweight. Pac's last 4 fights he's weighed 138, 144, 145, 144. Martinez: 159, 159, 157, 158.

The Toney vs Sweet Pea analogy is spot on. When Toney was middleweight champ Sweet Pea started campaigning as a welter, as Pac is now. He also won a 154 trinket.

For this to have any chance of getting done, Martinez needs to get down to a fair inbetween weight of 150-152, which he says is impossible. So he either kills himself in the gym cutting down there and risks coming in weak but gets the biggest payday he'll ever get, or he continues fighting at middleweight calling out Pac and never gets that payday. The choice is his.

            You owned him mate

I think you can add Froch, Abraham, Glen Johnson, Kessler, etc. Lets see him step up just 6 pounds! He will be plenty big enough fight night anyway.

                  or Lucian Bute...

Pacquiao is simply too small for him. This isn't even a good match-up to begin with. Just because the two are the top guys now doesn't mean they should fight. Pacquiao is great because he punishes and beats bigger guys. Martinez, I think, should try to do the same and stop chasing Pacman (or even mentioning his name as a possible opponent). The way is up! He can fight Lucian Bute next...or Jean Pascal or B-Hop or Ward or Froch.
And maybe after that he & Pacman can fight Vladimir and Vitali Klitch respectively on the same night - co-main event sort of! lol

I agree....plus I think ppl forget that Sergio NEVER outgrew 154....he only went up to replace Pavlik and struck gold....so I honestly think he can bring it down to 152 IF NEEDED....if Manny can give Marg a undeserved dance at 150 then he should be man enough to give Sergio a dance at a reasonable weight for BOTH....Manny says he is in this game to make the fans happy.....this fight will make fans happy....the 2 hottest players in the game going one on one....whats better than that?!? .....it would make the Pac Nation even more happier if he could wax Martinez like he's done Cotto, Hatton, DLH, and Marg...oh yea, they would love that

boxing fans wanna see this fight....and a lil' message to Team Pac...don't drain him too bad....leave some life in his face

"Martinez did confirm last week he has no plans to move up to the crowded 168-pound division, because with a smaller, 5-foot-10 frame, he would be giving away too much size. " http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/box...ory?id=6216573

And why he is asking welterweights 5-foot-6 frame to fight him on 154 lbs and outweigh his opponent by 20+ lbs on fight night??? hahaha

one more thing, when Oscar is the cash cow, Floyd climb to 154 coz Oscar said so.... Pac do the same, he climb from 135 to 147 just to fight the cash cow... now this non PPV attraction want a piece of the two cash cows and p4p kings to fight him at his comfortable weights of 154 lbs gaining huge size advantage? hahaha!

"No mistake," Arum said, "Martinez is good, very good in fact. Do not undestimate this guy. He may be an exceptional guy but when I mentioned Lucian Bute (super middleweight champ) then Lou says Bute is too big for Martinez. If Bute is too big for Martinez, then what does that make Martinez for Manny?"
