I think this could have the opposite effect & have Vitali secondguessing this dude. Vitali is probably wondering to himself why Solis refuses to look at him. He doesn't get a chance to intimidate him. Kevin Johnson...when he didn't want any part of the staredown wore shades. In that instance it showed fear & he fought that way. Not so sure Solis is intimidated. Don't get me wrong.. he has every right to be & definitely made up his mind from the outset not to engage Vitali in the staredown. I think it could be a little of both as others stated here.... just the Cuban mindset. He sure as hell using that as an excuse not to look in Vk's eyes. Vitali..jokes around sometimes but when it's time to get in someone's mug... no one is more intimidating..he's one mean mofo...you all saw the prefight staredown with Lewis & Sanders.... 'nuff said.

Pre Douglas Tyson would've been intimidated looking all the way up at a lean & mean Vitali Klitschko... he definitely was intimidated by Holyfield.

Don't argue with that as i'm sure Solis believes in his boxing skills but at the same time...he has to be questioning his game a little going up against Vitali Klitschko. He hasn't fought anyone nearly as skilled or as strong as him. First time he's on the main stage as a pro... ain't NO headgears up in here!

I think this is what's happening here too. I'm sure there is a little nervous energy there for Solis & by not looking at Vitali....actually frustrates him & doesn;t give Vitali a gauge as to how fearful if at all Solis is of him. The weigh-in will show a bit more as Solis as no place to hide under layers of sportsgear & spongebob necklaces.
