Comments Thread For: Chavez vs Alvarez Would Be Good For 2011, Says Beltran

Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions, co-promoter of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., would like to see his boxer face Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in 2011. Alvarez is the WBC champion at 154-pounds. Chavez is going to fight Sebastian Zbik on June 4 for the WBC middleweight title. Beltran doesn't see the weight difference as a problem. Alvarez was unable to make his recent weight of 150-pounds for the bout with Matthew Hatton.

this fight will not happen at all stop hyping it the only way it happens if both are under the same banner but chavez will lose a fight soon if he steps up in comp and arum will feed him to cotto then have chavez v.s yuri or clottey canelo will be protected for a long time

I dislike this Beltran guy..he translates his fighters horrible and he's always sucking Arum's nuts at press conferences.

Both these guys suck and if this fight ever happens it should be televised for free since they both suck. I want to see Canelo and Chavez both fight some real opposition at a real weightclass, not some bull crap catchtweights.

Junior has not show me much and Canelo has show good punching power. So I say Alvarez wins by k.o.
