I think its really wrong that the WBO stripped Sergio and all that, and I can half way understand Dibella's position of not wanting to fight for it again. Fair play. But why not just fight Pirog without paying the sanctioning fee? And another thing that makes him look like a hypocrite is Sergio calling out the Chavez Jr.-Zbik winner. Dibella doesn't want Martinez to fight this guy because he knows he's a threat. Plain and simple.

Martinez isn't one of these dudes who will fight against all comers at the drop of a hat like say Glen Johnson is for example. Age is a weak excuse. Defend your title at 160 and quit calling out smaller guys.

if you ask me all these pseudo Martinez fans are worse than any ******* or ***** with the excuses they are making for Sergio. I have no issues with him going after the cash cows but some of the excuses and moves he is pulling lately is pathetic.

Pirog needs to build a name first, have him fight Kirkland, and if he wins lets go from there. But beating a distraught Jacobs while losing the first few rounds dont maake him the 2nd best middleweight you know?

Maybe because Pirog aint ****. I have nothing personal against him but since Dibella doesnt want the fight yall make him into some great fighter that he's not. People talked about what a great chance Dizzy had while the whole time I was saying he is gonna get blasted. Pirog will look even worse. Its a lot of hype because he's a European with a little head movement before you know it yall have turned him into Roy Jones III. Im not a huge Martinez fan but he did take the hard road and doesnt owe Pirog a fight.

dibella wants nothing to do with pirog. he keeps going out of his way to discredit him saying how he's not a draw and doesn't bring any money. you just fought dzinziruk so cram it! you aren't gonna get a big site fee or live gate fighting either guy. not to mention hbo puts up the money regardless of the opponent. hbo would have approved martinez-pirog in an instant but he wasn't on dibella's list of potential opponents weird!

they paid dzinziruk 850k and martinez 1.2 mill. pirog probably would have fought for much less than 850k(he made 50k agaisnt jacobs) and martinez could have took a larger portion of the pie so don't you dare say it's about money. martinez would have made more fighting pirog! it's about pirog being too good and potentially upsetting dibella raking in the money. he saw first hand what happened to jermain taylor when he matched him tough and he's not gonna let that happen again.

Where you get those #s from, cause its really hard to believe Dzin would make that much fight Sergio. Sergio should atleast get 1.5 for it.

See how easy that was and how the same can be applied as to why Floyd or Manny don't have to face Martinez.

He took on all the risky ones like Williams and Pavlik. And put on a hell of a show against a long-time titlist last Saturday. And he's calling for a big fight again. He needs to fight Pirog first? I think the only people I see making that argument are Pac and Floyd apologists.

yeah just like pac took on barrera, marquez and morales when he was coming up before he turned into a cherry picker. you have to earn your way to the top but once you get to the top it's cherry pick heaven. it happens to all fighters. the system boxing has is broken. there is no incentive to risk losing once you are at the top. it comes down to how long are you going to give martinez the benefit of the doubt for the great victories he had. floyd fans have been doing it for 9 years so it may be hopeless.
