    Martinez's straight left..

anyone else notice he's throwing it more and more like Manny, almost hopping on the front foot and moving to his right at the same time..

I heard roach had something to do with martinez at some point? Is this true, maybe thats where he got it from? Anyone know their history?

either way, I thought he was exceptionally awkward and effective fighter last night...

Only when they loop it, Pacquiao throws it straighter, Martinez usually throws it in a downward angle.

Pac's is straighter. Martinez kinda wings it but it's effective. I think it's cool having two dynamic southpaws at the very top of the sport.

he threw it beastly in the first williams fight, as well as the pavlik fight

as long as i've seen him box he's used the lead left like a champ!

They do throw it somewhat similar, both are also very unorthodox and that's probably why.

I would say this is his signature punch, look at his movement slight to the right to expose his opponent right chin. He did it same to Williams and look how devastating it is if one's caught by it. I think is more like a super left hand because Martinez lower himself and moving forward, putting his bodyweight into the punch. Hit in the right spot, sure is a nice one.
