Does Cotto need to beat Margarito to get a big fight?

I'm thinking this is the strategy. While he's still a good fighter, he's pprobably too small for 154. If he can avenge the loss to Margarito then his only real loss would be to Manny and that probably puts him back in line.

I don't see how else he gets it now. While he's done okay at 154, he's far from dominating to command the big fight.

What do you guys think?

Cotto could get any fight he wants. He has the third biggest name. Even if he lost to Mayorga, he would be able to get anyone.

Cotto/Margarito is a big fight -.- Its possibly the 2nd most wanted fight after Manny/Floyd, and I could see it hitting 1 million buys this is a true grudge match with two guys whom I'm sure hate each other, especially Cotto. This fight will put Cotto back in Top 10 P4P I think, possibly top 5. He'd only have one loss he hasn't avenged and it was to the best fighter in the last 20 years at least.

He has to beat Marg to look like he can WIN a big fight but I think he can get a big fight if he pushed for it. I think Marg vs Cotto2 is actually a big fight in itself.
