Pawel Wolak deserves a world title fight

He doesn't have a fanbase, despite his Polish ethnicity, in the United States yet...For example; he's got only 180 likes as an Athlete on facebook, as opposed to Yuri Foreman (6500 likes), Adamek (44000 likes), or Pavlik (15576), and thus has no bargaining power.
At this point the champions will only fight him if he is the #1 contender and they are forced to. Period. The only thing he can do is to keep fighting often and keep winning, and hopefully an opportunity will come his way that makes him a star, like Martinez with Williams and Adamek with Arreola.Comment

Why dont the polish support him? They seem to suport other polish fighters.

He's been on the come up slowly: he's fought at MSG three times as well as Yankee Stadium the past couple years. I'm sure the Polish people in New York support him.
But for everyone else, I don't think anyone else even knows about him, really. I'm a hardcore boxing fan and I like the other European guys just fine, but I've only seen him fight that one time against Foreman, which was on PPV.
Just going to have to stay on his grind and keep winning until people can't deny him.Comment

Wolak DOES deserve a title shot.
However, Carlos Molina deserves one even more, since he should have wins over Cintron and Lara. Oddly enough, thats the best two consecutive wins at 154lbs that anyones had in a LONG time...
Of Molina had any sort of following, people would be claiming he was the best at 154lbs. Resume wise, you can make an extremely fair case for him.
Anyhow, Molina and Wolak both already deserve title shots.Comment

he's a terrific tv fighter who is also a solid gold guy
he really does impress me every time i hear him talk.
he's a humble, blue collar guy 100%
he knows he's got to win impressively tonight but i see a big fight for him at the end of the year or early in the next.
margarito, kirkland [for as long as he remains upright,] angulo, Jr, cotto, alvarez, would all be cant miss TVLast edited by New England; 07-15-2011, 06:51 PM.Comment

polish fightfans are up there with the craziest fans on the planet.
some of them bring smoking hot gf's too
but it's mostly drunken fat baldies wearing white and red
gotta love it

**** I need to finally watch Molina/Lara tonight. Thanks for reminding me.Wolak DOES deserve a title shot.

Believe me, Molina will grow a solid fanbase if he keeps winning. In the weeks coming up to the Lara fight he was a journeyman with 4 losses who hadn't fought in a year.
He should call for a third fight with JCC Jr. Seriously.
