Do you honestly think either of these past prime fighters were in there attempting to avoid punishment?

Cotto was. He executed his gameplan just fine. Mayorga was in there trying to make it into a brawl. He put on a show. Mayorga was earning his paycheck.

If you honestly think that was some sort of all of brawl I suggest watching the fight again. Cotto didn't take that much punishment.

Find the post where I called it a brawl? I'm saying he wasn't in there with the intention of avoiding punishment. He was right there in front of Mayorga all night. He wasn't running. He's not supposed to stand there and let those wide ass, chopping shots connect on him.

And he did get hit with a fair amount of shots.

I'm not sure what you were looking for out of the fight. Were you expecting it look like a Margarito/Canelo fight? Just 2 guys walking into punches, until one of them fall?

I was expecting a Trinidad-Mayorga sort of fight. Cotto obviously wasn't in there trying to avoid punishment, but he wasn't in there trying to take much of it. Oh, and I misquoted Tyson's quote.

I do not get how people think this fight was one sided,Mayorga won at least 4-5 rds and hurt Cotto a few times,if it was not for the rounds he took off from being gassed this fight could have been real close.
