haha i just messing around, but there was one guy in my boxing gym whose parents came from mexico, and he couldn't speak spanish, so all the mexican-americans (or sorry, americans with mexican heritage) that could speak spanish MADE FUN OF HIM, and said he wasnt "a real mexican" because he couldn't speak spanish and how he was more like a white man then a mexican. And I was thinkink, "wait, hold up", didn't the spaniards FORCE the spanish language on the local, native tribes of mexico? And in all the history books I read, the spaniards were always referred to as "white men" lol so it just seemed kind of hypocritical.Comment

This is what I have been saying for some time. Mexicans make fun of how PRs speak Spanish and brag about how they speak the master's tongue much better than Ricans etc, and it's like: Do they realize how conditioned they are?haha i just messing around, but there was one guy in my boxing gym whose parents came from mexico, and he couldn't speak spanish, so all the mexican-americans (or sorry, americans with mexican heritage) that could speak spanish MADE FUN OF HIM, and said he wasnt "a real mexican" because he couldn't speak spanish and how he was more like a white man then a mexican. mexicans don't just call a "mexican american" a pocho for not speaking spanish, it has to do more with them not being a cultured mexican. And as far as mexicans betraying their "real" ancestry just shows how much you don't know about mexican people when you say this shit. Mexicans are quite aware of their ethnic background and although spanish is the predominant language spoken in mexico, their are millions of people who speak native languages. There are 68 native languages with 291 dialects.why do mexicans make fun of mexican-americans by calling them pochos or whatever? if a mexican-american who was born in american can't speak spanish - they get made fun of. YET, SPANISH was FORCED upon the mexicans by the spaniards who invaded their country, ****d their women, etc. It seems like they too are betraying their REAL ancestry by speaking spanish?Comment

By what you are saying you are assuming that all Mexicans are native or mixed with native and that is not the case!! A lot of Mexicans are Spanish descent and are proud of the Spanish Language. They were just making fun of him for not speaking the same language as his parents!!haha i just messing around, but there was one guy in my boxing gym whose parents came from mexico, and he couldn't speak spanish, so all the mexican-americans (or sorry, americans with mexican heritage) that could speak spanish MADE FUN OF HIM, and said he wasnt "a real mexican" because he couldn't speak spanish and how he was more like a white man then a mexican. what about margarito? You are truly an idiot!!Mexico is just a country made up of different races like Whites, blacks, asians and the majority of Mexicans are of Native American and European mixture!! The original inhabitants of Mexico were Native Americans like Navajos, Apaches and Cherokees in the USA. A "Pocho" like you mentioned is actually just an American of Mexican Descent, but truly just American. I do not understand why people keep calling Americans of Mexican Descent, Mexican. An American of Mexican Descent cannot be Mexican because to be Mexican you have to had been born in Mexico!! It is like calling a African American "African" or "Nigerian". I believe most African Americans would feel insulted. Or If you called a white American with a Irish last name an Irish. I live in west Viriginia and I have a hard time over here because my kids keep being called Mexicans when in reality they were born in the USA, so arent they Americans??WTF
