I dont think fighters from the 106 pound weight class ever get much attention. One of the reasons I was asking in another thread if he will ever go to feathweight 126.

I think he'll probably step up in weight eventually.

It's almost shocking you have to ask.

Viloria has been a star on the rise ever since he was touted as one of the most violent punchers on the American Olympic team before he turned pro.

At only 18-0, he's already had several telivised fights, and gets a lot of coverage (including a main event on Friday night Fights).

Here's a great article from CNN from 2000 when he was just 18:

With the way this guy is knocking guys out,

He's definatly going to bring more awarness to the lower weight classes.

There's talk of possible fights with Jorge Arce, Hussein Hussein and Ivan Calderon, which would be dream fights for any true boxing fan.

The fact some of you are just catching on now doesn't mean he hasn't gotten coverage in the past, or that he's a flavor of the month. It just shows there's more to boxing than Featherweights and up.

He's only 23, yet reccent wins over Juan Alfonso Keb Baas and Runin Contrearas created a lot of buzz because of how violent a puncher Viloria has looked for the Lt Flyweight division.

Here's a knockdown agaisnt Juan Alfonso Keb Baas:

I think he's got big chance against the likes of arce or hussein hussein but not calderon. calderon likes to hit & run, sort of like a raheem style when he beat morales. well if you're a boxer that's what the boxing fans will take notice of you. and i think boxing fans like me don't like a runner like raheem or calderon, or any other boxer who fits that description!

I agree, I'd keep him away from Calderon at this point, but that
s not to say it won't be a more win-able fight down the line...
