$1500 to win almost $10,000. Not a bad bet, I think this is a closer fight then the odds say. Cotto is very lucky this isnt 2003 though.

If you bet $1500 at 5dimes right now your payout would be $9750.

I wouldn't bet over a grand on any fighter in any fight, some risks are not worth taking, but thats just me. on the other hand, calling someone a fool for doing it is foolish in itself, if you know anything about boxing you would know no matter how uneven the odds in boxing ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN! its called an upset people, if you are so sure of a certain outcome put YOUR money where YOUR mouth is.

Mayorga was a 7 to 1 underdog. I remember it like yesterday.

Good luck with that. However, this isn't a bet I'd lay down. I'd have gone small on this bet and just played the odds. Some of the odd I've seen ar at +600 for Mayorga.

You could have just laid down a simple 2 or 3 hundred on the line and still made out with a decent amount of money.

For the record, I don't see Cotto losing this fight. Could happen. Regardless, I didn't see Cotto scared of Mayorga. When has he ever responded to this kind of stuff? Some people don't need to talk to win fights. Some just fight.

Emanuel Steward pretty much is there to tell Cotto what he already knows. Kind of like when Steward was with Chavez when he fought Frankie Randall. It didn't change jack.
Um... no. Just watch training footage, any fighter will tell you how you do it in the gym is how you do it in the ring. Hitting mitts with his old trainer he didn't even get to target his punches, the idiot would slap the glove on EVERY punch. Then they would do no footwork, just stand in one place and duck under the occassional hook. Just watch Cotto's old fights, he had his bad habits of still bending over too much, but he was simply a better fighter. He threw more combinations with more punches, instead 1-3 punch combo's. All this revolved around his balance, just because he ran down Judah doesn't mean thats how he should be fighting. Against Manny he simply slugged it out with very little boxing involved which is the complete wrong thing to do. Even something as minor as the proper gameplan can make a giant impact.
