Personally I wish Cotto would atleast acknowledge the fight, Mayorga is the only one selling it.

I think that Cotto just doesn't want to put himself in a position where Mayorga would take advantage of him. For example, If Cotto were to have done the stare-down, Mayorga would have likely attempted to incite a brawl. Why would Cotto want to be a part of that? He'll gain nothing by insulting Mayorga back and fighting with him outside of the ring. He's a consummate professional, and he's just looking to do his job in the ring. You'll see how much he cares tomorrow night.
