Why does Golden Boy spend their money on this dude.. B/c he's seen as a potential viable opponent for Donaire? I don't think this makes much sense, good for Chemito though. Gets more money and doesn't have to get pwned by Donaire.

Because he's a good fighter that has a title and can be matched up against Mares.

The money is probably only guaranteed if he wins the fights. I can see Parra, Morel, and then Mares, if he loses either of those, he wouldn't be able to collect the 500K, but if he wins, he'll have a pretty good name that will justify the 500K.

Golden Boy is dumb as hell. I'm sorry and I know we love the lower weights but no casual fans like the lower weights outside a few stars. Why on Earth would Golden Boy even consider giving this guy a four fight deal and nearly 300,000 dollars per fight. He isn't from America and no one has seen him fight. This is a dumb investment on their part. Way too much risk involved.
