prime Mayorga would have beaten Cotto imo. that was 7 or 8 years ago though.

did you see Mayorga's last fight? he looked really bad, and I think his punch resistance has gone down the drain. terrible signs for a wild offensive fighter with little defense.

Mayorga will take shots from Cotto. But Cotto will be landing often and inevitably Mayorga will get stopped. He's also susceptible to that left hook both to the body and head (2 of Cotto's main weapons) along with Cotto's jab that's going to frustrate Mayorga into swinging.

It's Boxing and anything can happen, but I don't see this going any other way but by KO or stoppage by Cotto.

Quote of the Day - Don King on Mayorga v. Cotto:

"I was seduced, but I knew what [Arum] was thinking," King said. " 'I've got a crazy man[Mayorga] on my hands here. Cotto can walk through this guy and if it goes past three, four rounds, he ain't going to make it.' I recognize that myself. I'm handicapped, but when you're sitting on the curb watching the cars go by, you have to find something to do.

"So I said, 'OK,' and we got this fight together. But I told him, 'Bob, I'm going to be honest with you: This guy [Mayorga]may not even get to the ring, but I'll make every effort to get him there.' It's been hell, honestly."

which round will mayorga go down in flames?

The Michael Walker fight? That was pure comedy

I doubt he trained hard for it though.

Cotto stoping Mayorga would be more of a surprise....much less Cotto winning.

But that still shouldn't validate even a thought of Mayorga/ Pacquiao happening....

                  Taking small bets....
Maybe not the only, but one of the few.

I'm in for a small bet. Let me know how much.
