According to reports in Panama, World Boxing Association (WBA) bantamweight champion Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno (30-1, 10KOs) has rejected an offer to face WBC/WBO champion Nonito Donaire (26-1, 18KOs) on May 28 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Moreno's agent, Roberto Grimaldo, was informed by the boxer than offer of $300,000 is insufficient. The message came through Chemito's wife.

this champ must be dreaming. How can he turned down the offer when he's not a household name? Even Donaire is not yet that household name like other stars, I mean he's known because he grow in US, he's not even embrace here in the Philippines for the reason of he doesn't possess the characteristics of being a filipino. He is watch here because his Filipino blood. I believe he's turning down the fight because that might be his last high reward fight. Moreno doesn't possess the excitement, drama, power because he is a boxer and as a boxer he doesn't possess the charisma of Sweet Pea once he had before

If it's true either he doesn't want to fight or just wants to cash out.

Ever since the Cermeno rematch, Moreno has been F'ing up.

2nt time since the Cermeno rematch where he has gone MIA. And, a lot of weird stuff with postponement and weight issues. Just being an idiot and not a professional.

It really sucks if it's true pre. I really believed that the only other reason this fight wouldn't be happening is Arum protecting Donaire.
