    They say...

Sonny Liston was old when Cassius Clay beat him...like Ali beat an old used up man (who was favored 7-1 and was the WORLD CHAMP at the time)...but I just realized that Liston went 15-1 with 14 KO'S after losing to Ali the second time and his only loss was to top 10 ranked Leotis Martin...interesting...

Who says this? Apart from boxingscene racists trying to inflate the record of their favourite new heavyweight?

Liston was old, probably pushing late 30's, but the effects of ageing differ greatly from fighter-to-fighter, and age does not determine how great a fighter is.

Liston still looked fearsome as ever only 5 months prior to his first fight with Ali when he destroyed Floyd Patterson a second time.

After the 2nd Ali bout he fought mainly stiffs though - his loss was a brutal KO.

for what its worth, though, he was beating Martin when he got caught...and he beat a few solid guys on thise 15 wins...14 by KO...some would have u believe he was completely finished when Ali beat him the second time, clearly not true...

I still don't think that anyone says this unless they're an NSB kid who probably never laced em up.
