I don't think that Mosley hits as hard, comparatively, as he used to when he was a lightweight. It's the suddenness of his right hand combined with the surprise and the sound which give the impression of overwhelming power.

Down twice, in the same round, I think it was the second rd. He lasted the whole fight although well beaten. His recovery was terrific, as Forrest was much taller and a heavier puncher, with a good left jab as well as right hand.

The fight was a long time ago, and I haven't seen it since. I could be wrong, but I seem to recall Mosley being down twice. Maybe someone has the video handy. Maybe Boxrec has it.

I'm not so sure either them really has a great chin. Mosley used steroids in his prime and Margarito has been using plaster. It could be that they weakened their opponents (by cheating) enough to take away their punching power. So their chins haven't really been tested.

I just checked Boxrec, nothing there, but I noticed that in 13 fights since Forrest 2, he's had only 4 KO's. The KO's were against Mayorga (2) and Vargas (2). So his punch is not really as heavy as is generally thought.

Shane Mosley obviously has the better chin.

YOUTUBE has the fight and my recollection was correct. He was KD twice, in the second rd.

One thing I'd forgotten was that immediately preceding the first KD there was a hard clash of heads and Mosley was dazed and cut at the hairline. Forrest jumped on him after that. Until then, Mosley had been ahead.
