            They probably just do a quality of opposition ranking like in college ball. So they'll look at the records of the fighters they beat and then maybe go one level further, and look at the records of the fighters that these fighters beat.

            Of course this method has a number of limitations. For example, De La Hoya would look like gold because of his wins of Cesar Chavez, though I think most people would agree that these were neither career defining nor even all that impressive victories.

            Also, if you take out an up-and-comer early in his career it won't reflect that well on you, cause the guy hasn't had the time to rack up all that many Ws. So if Hopkins had beaten Taylor, for example, if wouldn't have counted for much because Taylor's opposition up to that point had been pretty lousy, even though Taylor was his toughest test in years.

            Look at Klitschko's record carefully. None of his Ws are against big-name opponents. He probably gets most of his ranking off of the Danny Williams win, since Danny beat Tyson.

              I just visit boxrec for checking some fighter's record and I think the site is accurate on that one (correct me if Im wrong people)...
