Criticism of Showtime: Bute vs Magee (and the 3-fight deal)

This is horrible honestly. It is just a 1 fight broadcast, and the 3 fight deal sucks for fans.

HBO had no reason at all to sign Bute to a multi-fight deal as all the other elite SMW's were at Showtime so that signing made no sense at all at the time (which I and a few others noted, but most in the media drooled over it). I bet we'll get another lopsided Bute fight before we see him in against Ward, Froch, or Johnson. It's pathetic and very Greenburgish.

EDIT: It is NOT a 1 Fight broadcast according to my Directv Guide (which can be wrong). It says they are showing Edison Miranda vs Renan St-Juste. Crap undercard.

It'll make up for it if he fights Kessler and then the super six winner. I doubt it will. This was a bad deal that hardly any one mentions. Isn't he making like 2 and a half mill to fight mcgee? lol

If that's true he makes Andre Berto look underpaid. I swear to god, I hate Bute more than any fighter out there right now. The dude has virtually done nothing in his career.

I don't know and I don't want to. I hate when any network signs an exclusivity agreement with any fighter for multiple fights. This never benefits fans.

Bute-Kessler is a fight that will never happen.

Both want the Super 6 winner, neither wants to risk a loss and losing that chance.

Makes sense which means we will be getting 1 more throwaway Bute fight.

Although Hershman would not divulge the number of fights or the value of the deal, sources told ESPN.com that it is for at least three fights with license fees of about $2 million per bout.

Super middleweight titlist Lucian Bute, the one elite super middleweight not part of Showtime's Super Six World Boxing Classic, signed a multi-fight agreement with the network Friday.

That's just frustrating. Why Hershmann? Why? You are a smart dude. Did you just want to throw money away?

The same Jean Paul Mendy that Sakio Bika destroyed in 1 round (and then got DQ'd)?

                    I believe it.
