Why don't they deserve it? People spend $200 every year for HBO to get some of the best fights in the sport, and if those fights aren't happening they deserve the heat they get. They are a business not a charity. I want what I'm paying for.

Of course they did. HBO is the king of the networks for boxing in the whole world. One slip up or a bad stretch people will be calling for their heads. No matter how bad HBO messes up they still put SHO to shame. People love great fights but they love stars more.

They also spend a lot more money than Showtime on boxing, and have overpaid and promised fights by bidding against THEMSELVES. Really, was Showtime going to pay Andre Berto $2 million to fight Freddy Hernandez? They make some horrible decisions.

That is not all HBO does, if you buy HBO for that reason and don't like their product why buy it? Get Showtime or Epix (whatever that is).

What fights haven't been made that are HBO's fault? They make the fights they want most are high level, some aren't the greatest but they do provide a lot of top level boxing. Sometime fights between guys suck that is how the cookie crumbles. HBO can't make every fight happen even if they did everything perfect.

I just find it making a mountain out of a mole hill

              1. I'm a boxing fan. I buy everything including shit PPVs. 2. I have Showtime, and I'd get epix if I didn't have to switch cable/satellite companies to get it.

A bunch of fights between Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions fighters have not been made. HBO could solve this lame issue if they wanted to. Money talks.

Add to that the promised dates to Haymon fighters?

HBO isn't the worst all the time and I'm the first to admit they have done much better this year so far, but I think they are heeding a lot of their criticism (which is good).

They do make horrible decisions and they should be criticized but there is no reason to write them off. HBO has the stars, they have the money and they can virtually make any fight happen. If they *** up a few fights they can easily fix em. Look at the upcoming Donaire/Moreno fight. That fight is just as big as any SHO fight this year in the interest of hardcore fans and they made that fight at the drop of a hat.

Yeah I'm excited for Donaire-Moreno just like I was for Donaire-Montiel. I like Martinez-Dzinziruk a lot, and I was happy they didn't let Martinez fight Lee. There are some good signs. I don't care for Alvarez or the Chavez Jr. fight coming up this summer but if that gets them ratings, subscribers, and increased interest in the sport of boxing I can't complain.

I don't think anyone wrote HBO off, however; I think everyone came to agreement that it's time for Ross Greenburg to move on. The quailty of fights broadcasted on HBO has decreased drastically, while there are plenty of great fights that go unaired or appear on Showtime.

HBO has many times Showtime's budget, but the Super Six and Showtime's focus on lower weight guys like Donaire and Mares have utterly eclipsed the bull**** we've been getting from HBO. HBO consistently plays favorites to guys who's promoters they're tight with, regardless if they deliver awful fights or not. I mean, did you guys watch Chad Dawsons last 4? They were unbearable.

Greenburg has been ****ing up for a long time. It's time to get some fresh blood in there while we still have a sport worth caring about.

IF you don't like their product don't buy it, I don't know what else to say. You can always pick it back up if you feel it is getting better.

HBO has nothing to do with why Golden Boy and Top Rank fighters don't fight, Arum is using that as an excuse to do what he wants. Also it is not like GBP is without fault in the process either. Arum is a stubborn biter old man HBO can't force him to do anything.

Like I said dog them if you want but HBO is a minuscule problem, the Top end of the sport is not what needs to be worried about.
