Carl Froch always complaining about his fights not being televised in Britain?

Are his fights really not televised at all in the UK? That would be amazing to me. He's an exciting fighter with a solid resume, a world title, and a big mouth. How is he not anywhere near as popular as Calzaghe?

Froch vs Pascal was on free tv one of the main channels and was a great fight everyone said so. There was some arguement over how much he would get for the taylor fight and he hasn't been on sky/sentana etc since only ppv which no one knows about

Calzaghe has a loyal Welsh suppport.

        Froch has a big nose.

These are the two reason he is not on tv.

Calzaghe had a deal with Setanta.

sadly this channel is no longer with us,

It is a shame as it showed fights such as Cotto V Margarito.

its true, Froch is seriously unknown in the UK amongst a lot of the general public. most would think he's not fit to shine Calzaghes shoes if you asked them. the truth is they just havent seen this guy in action or it was a long time ago. Sky missed a trick here as Brits love nothing more then the underdog who comes will the mind of a champion even if he doesnt have the skills of one and Froch to most people would fit that bill.

His promoters (Hennessy) i dont think have done the best job with him. unfortunately by the time the supersix is over he will have left most of his best fights behind him and will be close to the finish line of calling it a day

This is quite a sore point amongst British fight fans.

Froch was, for a few years, an underground darling of the BBC and ITV, but we can thank Audley for the loss of the beeb and ITV seemingly made the conscious decision to drop boxing all together.

Setanta went down the plug hole as everyone knows, Sky is tied up with Frank Warren, Matchroom Sports and a newly acquired deal with Hatton promotions, so the schedule is maxed out.

Add this to the fact that Hennessy is an awful promoter and carries no weight with major broadcasters and suddenly you find yourself in the preverbal pickle.

So along come newbies ‘Primerime’ and Carl suddenly has little choice but to sign.

Thankfully he’s not tied to Primetime and I’m sure Sky will FIND space for him somewhere, Adam Smith will champion him (tho he’s recent spat with Bunce wasn’t optimistic)

Carl will get his overdue exposure soon enough................i hope!

Calzaghe was able to sell a shed load of tickets for this stadium against the likes of Manfredo and Kessler. High ticket sales means he could accept the pay ITV were offering even if it wasn't that high.

Enzo Calzaghe trained a number of fighters and they would fight on the bill. The like of Rees, Cleverly, Pryce and Enzo Mac. All Welsh fighters and this helped get the crowds in too.

Boxing on tv in the UK is not on full stop unless your willing to pay for via sky which is £30 per month minimum add the sport channel at £25 per month and its starts to rack up, plus most good bouts are not even on the standard sport channel, they are on ppv which again is another £10 - £20 depending on the fight.

ITV & BBC dont show any boxing anymore which is a shame. Now your standard joe blogs in the UK couldn't even name the UK current crop of champs never mind the best we have like Froch.
