    A washed up Eubank? Mitchell?

    Please.

Calzaghe talked about a LOT of fights over the years, and NONE of them happened. He has no one to blame for that but himself.

He busted his hand in a WORTHLESS fight that was no more useful than a sparring session.

Calzaghe wants no part of Lacy, or anyone else with a pulse.

Actions speak louder than words. Calzaghe hasn't fought anyone viable in years, and has no interest in doing so.

Mark my words, he will retire, never having fought a marquee fight.

He's a complete and utter waste.
I watch a lot of boxing, i'm sorry that i have seen the fighters who you assume to be bums.

The WBO has some good fighters coincidently holding one of their titles, but in the grand scheme it is by far the least credible of the 4 major titles.

There's a difference between a resume full of bums, and one full of bums with a few contenders here and there.

Again, who has Calzaghe beaten that would put him ANYWHERE NEAR pound for pound consideration?

        Answer: No one.

From Ottke, to Jones and Hopkins, to Glen Johnson and Clinton Woods, and all I hear is that it's everyone's fault BUT Calzaghe's that he hasn't been in a marquee fight?

        Please.

Again, he hasn't fought a great fighter, and will retire having largely wasted his career.

Deluded?? Your making up belt reputations in your own head and i'm simply looking at which fighters hold which belts.

Fighters make the belts, not the other way round.

Stop putting words into my mouth, i never said he'd fought a great fighter, the so called great fighters like Hopkins and Jones seemed to want more money than the fight was worth to fight Calzaghe. I just understand you cant asked for more money than a fight is worth unless your trying to get out of it. Its hard to fight someone when they wont get in the same ring.

Infact Eubank was a great fighter, Calzaghe fought and beat him but i dont suppose anyone with a UK passport can be considered great.

The sooner Lacy puts his bottle back in and agree to fight Calzaghe the better, even then you will probably just say Lacy was young and green.

              hmm

Uhh, pay attention. Lacy has never said the fight is off, and neither has Shaw. If Shaw said that, Lacy'd go cracy. Shaw just got mad but not once did they say the fight is off.

Eubank was nowhere near what he once was when Calzaghe beat him.

That is nowhere near a one win legacy sealer.

The point I was making, is that Calzaghe is 32 year old, 40-0, and has yet to face a marquee fighter.

No matter how you try and justify it, he's talked about a lot of fights, and they've never amounted to more than talk.

Lacy doesn't need Calzaghe, he's young, hungry, and won't make the mistake of wasting his whole career.

The Lacy fight won't happen, just like so many fights before it haven't happened for Calzaghe.

Face it, he's 40-0 and almost completely unproven.

He's justing doing now what he's always done: involving himself in discussions of a big fight that won't happen.

I cant profess to know a hole lot about either fighter and i definately dont have a preference in this fight, i just know ill bet on the underdog which will likely be calzaghe.

                  looking at their resumes though.....

those of you who are criticizing calzaghes fights, you should look at Lacy's record. he hasnt fought any higher level of comp as far as i can tell. im sure at some point Calzaghe has been ducked by opposition better than that which he ended up fighting.

                    LOOK at Lacy's record.

                    1) He's only had TWENTY pro fights

                    2) He's only 28

You really need to think before you chime in with a comment like that.

When Calzaghe was 20-0, he had faced maybe 4 or 5 fighters with winning records.

There is absolutly ZERO room to draw a compairison there, as in his first 20 pro fights Lacy has fought Ried, Williams, Sheika and Vanderpool.

Hi Sactown1, fancy a rematch, if Lacy ever fights again?
Very very very brave man, Lacy. So you think Joe looked scared?
Did you also think Tyson would beat Lewis too?
