like i've always said, and it's the main reason why i like hopkins as a fighter, more than him being a fighter, and that is " HE IS THE AMERICAN DREAM IN ACTION"


talk about a guy that has picked himself up by the boot straps. his story is one that SHOULD be a movie, from a rough childhood, to prison, to losing his first fight, becoming champion, going heads up against the boxing establishment, going up against don king and dibella, no matter the outcome, the guy IS STILL STANDING and giving all the young lions a run for their money.....


like richardson says about pacuquiao, the same can be said for hopkins......

"if you don't like hopkins, you don't like boxing" and i will go further to say, you're not a real fan boxing because hopkins has done so much for the sport outside the ring for the benefit of OTHER FIGHTERS, all without slandering other fighters to create a smoke screen for his own agenda and not the whole of boxing, ie floyd.

Excellent post. Anyone who knows anything about boxing, knows that B-HOP is everything that is good about boxing. He is a constant professional, has overcome the judicial system, and has made himself a world class athlete when everyone said he couldn't. And he keeps doing it, even at the age of 46. When Bernard says, "I'm a throwback." he means it, and he speaks the truth. This man is a professional through, and through. He is a boxer aspiring boxers should look up to. He's all class. (In terms of professionalism. His antics outside the ring are a different story, obviously.)

All I can say is, there is no other ATHLETE in all of professional sports, that I respect more than Bernard Hopkins right now.
