i honestly think the difference is so minute it would barely be detectable between all the aforementioned pugilists. In fact, speed difference could be a lot more noticeable then that, and timing would still be so much more important.

Meldrick Taylor was extremely fast (obviously) it's a shame he mixed it up so much. I always thought Jermain Taylor was extremely fast. Then there's the obvious guys: Floyd, RJJ, Pacman. I thought both Oscar and Shane Mosley were extremely fast in their primes as well. Obviously Sugar Ray Leonard. Supposedly, Ali pre-jail was as fast as lightning. It's tough to say.

TNT Taylor. He was so fast he had Chavez completely baffled before the ninth round of their fight. It was the first time I ever saw JCC back up and he wasn't even hurt. He was just out of ideas. Taylor is truly the fastest of all time.

Here, here! For instance: I don't think Mike Tyson had as fast of hands as say RJJ, but a prime Mike's timing was impeccable! It was truly a sight to be behold! (And I'm trying not to gush over Mike, but it's the truth!) Mike's timing was simply uncanny. His counter punching ability, his head movement........just about everything was perfect for a HW boxer in the 80's. But his timing was his best asset IMO, because he throw vicious punches, aimed to take a person's head off. And he did when the time was right. It was all very calculated. It's a shame he got so much, so soon..........because if he could have kept his head on straight, he could have went undefeated for a MUCH longer period of time.
