Hate to say it, but all the waiting for a big name fight is really hurting Berto's career. A fight with Alvarez would at least keep him in the public eye, plus i think he could win it.

nice fight...I've been accused of hatin' on Andrea too much...but I feel like I've been calling a spade a spade....dude is in the Al Haymon witness protection program and has been defending his WW strap against JWW dudes...smh.....BUT I can see him giving the kid a hard time and possibly stopping him....I would cheer for Canelo but would put my money on Andrea...I wouldn't mind losing money on him...I really wouldn't

maybe, maybe not. the kid is 5'8 1/2 and Alvarez is 5'9, that's hardly a difference. I wouldn't mind this fight at a catchweight, yes I said catchweight. Berto might be at too much of a disadvantage @ 154 unless he thinks he can do it (i know he's weighed up to 162 before, you gotta ask him about that) I'd take this fight at 151, it's a good win for either and propels their careers, i think.

i aint gonna front like berto hasn't picked on juniors and as if Alvarez hasnt picked on welters, maybe they're made for each other. at 151 neither is really gaining much, berto's big enough and Alvarez won't be 154. but it doesn't matter, Haymon won't let Berto get in the ring with Alvarez.

Agreed but I think Ortiz should do the trick for now. I'm just wondering who the next opponent will be after that...

                  solid fight

berto beats him up at this point in my eyes and wins a decision
he's way too fast with his feet and on another planet in terms of speed of hand

but maybe canelo drops the bomb on berto
                  he's a big boy certainly.
and he can **** hard as **** for a 20 year old

i wouldnt be surprised if he walked into the ring at 170 if they fought at 154

i'm thinking goldenboy puts canelo in with a few more b level fighters before they put him in against a real live animal

maybe a year or so at least.

I would be cool with this fight if it happens they both have a lot to prove in my book. I think Canelo wins this one.
