Alvarez vs the rest at 154 pounds

So fellas, he now has a strap in the division and may look toward bigger fights. Some experienced names on this list, and some not so experienced. How does Alvarez do against them ?

    Vs Cintron
    Vs Cotto
    Vs Angulo
    Vs Foreman
    Vs Rhodes
    vs Dzinziruk
    VS Margarito
    Vs Kirkland

Vs Cintron This could be one of his tougher fights. Not because Cintron is some boxing wizard, by any means. Simply because he is capable in the ring and has relatively decent speed with some pretty solid power. Alvarez is easily hit at times. He'd have to tighten up his defense. If the fight goes to the later rounds, I'd favor Alvarez. If it's a quick fight, I'd assume that Cintron got the job done.

Vs Cotto At this point, with the size advantage, this is a winnable fight for Alvarez. However, he could be a bit too inexperienced at this point. I'd probably favor Cotto, depending on how he looks against Mayorga. Still, a tough fight for both due to Alvarez' ability to throw a solid amount of punches and decent speed to go with his power. Cotto has the edge in defense and boxing, so it makes it a tough call.

Vs Angulo Angulo has some solid power. However, one thing I noticed in the Hatton fight is that Alvarez was able to use solid head movement when he felt like it. He would need it hear. If he can avoid and block Angulo's big shots, he has the ability to wear him down and potentially stop him. Angulo could tire from the punishment and missing his big shots. He'd have to be spot on on the night, however.

Vs Foreman This is a very winnable fight for Alvarez. He'd have to slow his man down, but if he does that, it's in the bank. He doesn't have to worry about getting caught too much and he could possibly hurt Foreman or win a solid decision. Decent fight, actually.

Vs Rhodes Don't know enough about Rhodes to make a decent prediction, so I wont.

vs Dzinziruk This is a tough fight for anyone at 154. I would probably go with Dzinziruk as he's a very slick and capable fighter. However, if he can withstand the punches and get to Dzinziruk, he has a chance.

VS Margarito While Margarito can punch, he's also getting up their at this point. It'd still be a good win, but Margarito is not that big of a puncher at 154 as he was at 147. And he wasn't a huge puncher there, either. Alvarez has the ability to avoid the slower shots of Margarito and possibly stop him if he can land his heavy hands. Could be stopped himself if he isn't careful.

Vs Kirkland Tough fight. On one hand, Kirkland is a wrecking machine. However, he has been dropped by lesser punchers. It's a tough fight as I need to see them both in with some better opposition in order to make a full assessment. I'd favor Kirkland at this point, however.

          Good post mate, cheers.
As for putting Rhodes name up there, he wouldn't off sprung to my mind to be honest but i noticed he was in the Rings top 10 so thought id add him to the list. From what iv'e saw of Rhodes in the past, id pick Alvarez to beat hm,.

Williams is another i could of added to the list. Actually ,could be some decent fights out there to be made at 154 pounds. Interseting to see whats next in store for Alvarez.

You guys damn well know that Alvarez only has a chance against Rhodes...He's a good 20 year old prospect...GBP messed up by giving him a paper title..Sulaimon doesn't know that the face of the WBC belt is SERGIO MARTINEZ...Whenever you thought about the green belt last year first fighter that comes to mind is MARTINEZ...SMH...He gave value to that belt...
