By the way... Hatton hasn't, "only ever fought bums untill he beat Tszyu". He worked himself into the mandatory position for the WBO, IBF, and WBA belts, (+ ranked 2 by the WBC)... These rankings were based on whom the governing bodies told him to fight.
Okay, so when Hopkins fights mandatories they're all bums, but when Hatton earns himself a mandatory spot he's a superstar? Can't have it both ways.
The fact that Morrade Hakkar and Cosme Rivera, among many, many other lousy fighters, were mandatories tells you all you need to know about the alphabet groups and their rankings.
The thing about that whole thing is, had Vivian Harris beat Mausa convincingly that night, he wouldn't have fought Harris, but now he wants to fight Mausa, because Cotto already gave him the blueprint.
I don't like the Ricky Hatton's people manage him like he's still a prospect.
Sosa and Corley were credible fighters. Sosa was an up and coming contender who was easily in everyones top 10 in the lightweight division. Just because he hasnt bounced back now doesnt mean he wasnt a top guy back then. Corley is more credible than any other fighter on Hattons resume other than Tszyu. Why you so hard on Corley? He is a top guy?
Also everybody knows politics is influenced with those rankings, everybody knows who the best is...Fighting mandatories are not fighting great fighters...Otherwise Zab would be getting praised for his fights against Rivera and his upcoming bout against Baldomir....It doesnt work for one and then not the other...The people know who the best are and dont need no crooked organization telling them who....Hatton vs Mayweather is the only fight that should happen at 140...You notice Mayweather doesnt want to hang around at 140 because he cant get the Hatton fight dont you?
Corley's ok... But it annoys me when people say that Cotto is fed bum after bum and given such an easy route to the top, Yet he's fought a lot of the same guys Mayweather has.
When Cotto fought Corley people were saying, "another bum!... Demacus (slop slop) Corley", Yet when mAyweather fights him he's a credible opponent?
Perhaps Mayweather is desperate to get out of the 140lb division BECAUSE of Hatton?

I'm not saying Hatton's resume is good up untill now... But it's not as bad as people try to make out.

Vivian Harris was offered the Ricky Hatton fight... And it was Vivian Harris that backed out of it.

What makes you think that Jack? They already tried to get a Harris fight a couple of years ago but he turned them down.
I don't think Hatton would ever follow a Cotto blueprint for a fight. They're just far too different in styles.
I don't see the problem of an easy defence, especially as it's for another belt, after fighting someone like Tsyzu. Not many fighters have had consecutive fights against guys of the calibre of KT and PBF.
Hatton did not fight one single RING top ten fighter until he fought Tszyu, which is why his opposition is quetioned, and rightfully so.
People who called Corley a bum just knew that Cotto would beat him due to the size and want to see Cotto lose. Corley is a RING top ten at 140 lbs and he is a good fighter. If he was as big as Cotto, Cotto would not beat him. But, Corley is small for his weight-class and that's his problem.
Mayweather has a long list of good fighters on his record, and has fought two guys at 140 lbs that were RING top 10 fighters. Fighting Maussa is ok for Hatton, for now, as Maussa did just beat a top 10 RING fighter...but after this, Hatton shouldn't waste his time too much longer.
The one thing that Maussa has going for him is that he has a great chin! Did you see some of the shots that he took from Harris? Not that Harris was impressive on that night, but some of the shots that Maussa walked through could have stopped a train. Hatton better not buy too much into this "Maussa is a bum" chatter and be prepared to be in top notch shape for this fight or he could end up on the canvas like Vivian!
Yeah, I don't see Hatton KOing Viv, I see a TKO 8 because Maussa aint gonna go down cuz of his godly chin. God made him so ugly so he repays him by giving him a GRANITE chin.
