I was impressed by him slightly. But to be honest I was more impressed with Matt Hatton hanging around for 12 rounds with him.

Canelo started too slow for my liking and I think he gave away the first round.

Obviously he was sizing up Hatton and seeing what he could do but he did not boss him. He showed he was a surgeon, a good accurate puncher and a technical boxer.

That didn't impress me because its what i expected from him.

I didn't see the next Roy Jones Roberto Duran or Chris Eubank there.

      That would have impressed me.

        HES 20 YEARS OLD!

        of course he's impressive

most 20 year olds in the states are sleeping until noon on the weekends and bingedrinking

when you're a 20 year old jr MW who punches like a grown man you've got the talent

he's not a defensive wizard in the least (he clearly trusts a sturdy chin and just tucks it and believes that is defensive enough)
        and he's not lightning fast

but he's got a ton of power
his shots are very crisp and he throws good cominations

and he sold over 10 k tickets in anaheim california

dude's going to depend on matchmaking to keep him away from somebody who can beat him to the punch with a good chin

a complete fighter with power and a chin would put a sustained beating on him at this point

but mathew hatton said it best
this kid is going to be something else at 25

          co sign

i mean alvarez showed alot of talent, but we already knew he was a talented kid so he didnt show anything new. the only way for him to truly impress at this point is to be able to beat a quality fighter, so there really wasnt any way he could impress against hatton simply cuz hes matthew hatton.

hatton on the other hand showed tremendous heart to hang in their for 12 rounds and take that savage beating, i was truly impressed and surprised by that. alvarez outclassing him was to be expected.

Ye i think hes a decent prospect

The problem is he is only 20 years old,his fans say he needs time too develop which is true, but if you have a world title you should be facing the best, you cant have it both ways.He clearly isnt ready too step up too elite level yet

He didn't show shat.. I dislike hypejobs, but he was gassed by the 8rd. Somebody with decent body punches would've beaten him. Matthew showed no fear in the fight. Other than the cintron mosquito trying to bite him. I was more impressed with Hatton

well, no not really but you would expect him to be at least THAT level of champ, right?

Like a slidign scale from 1 to 3
