sigh...wateva man. if u wanna get so sensitive about the damn thing. i dunno. i mean ****, i listen to the same kinda comments about blacks n americans in reference to roger and floyd sr. but u'll never see me crying about it. because it is true. they are embarrassing. thing is, they are ignorant. the ppl perpetrating these attacks on donaire and his wife are supposedly trained media ppl.

im the first person to criticize the us media and the us government for wat it does. theres a lot of hate directed at americans even on this forum, but i dont get all whiny about it and contribute it to racism. wats embarrassing is embarrassing. u pionys take this **** wayyyy too personal and thats why u guys get such a bad reputation on here.

        First off, WTF.

Secondly, Manny, why do you hang out with this guy? Why is David Diaz here. Rofl

Third, why is every politician/ex-politician in the Philippines involved with celebrities? Get a life.

It's a little cultural and a larger part the writer being inexperienced with the power his soap box has given him.

The guy obviously isn't a proper journalist. If he was, he wouldn't have stooped so low and taken offense to anything Donaire had to say. They were annoying Donaire, so Nonito hinted at how he was feeling. A professional wouldn't have taken it so personally to say the things he said and understood Donaire's actions. But some people make money off of drama and others are just lucky(unlucky for Donaire/us) enough to be given the forum to speak his mind even when he shouldn't have. This seems like a case of the latter.

And yes a small small part of this is cultural.

And since some have already acknowledged as much and shown that they don't have a full grasp of the situation, it's probably best to just leave this alone.

It is a little embarrassing that the writer has been allowed to continue to let his feelings be known about someone else's personal problems.(I'd be privately embarrassed if I owned philboxing.)

And that can be perplexing to some.

Just like it's probably hard for a person on the other side of the world to understand how a teen with no discernible talent can be a minor star here, for the sole fact that she's ***********al and has a baby.

Some things are just cultural, are hard to explain, and should be left as is.

But for me, this is more about a writer who shouldn't have been allowed to continue speaking about this particular issue.

              Let's all just move along.

What a clown this guy is. He's nobody anywhere else in the world, meanwhile Nonito Donaire is worldwide now.

                  Sorry, chump.

there is nothing wrong about being sensitive to racism. its being apathetic to it that is wrong.

you yourself admitted that this kind of reaction is common, even in the U.S. media. i was simply pointing out your obvious bias in saying that filipino writer's reaction wasn't human, when you can see similar unprofessional behavior from other news outlets in other cultures/countries.

my point is when you attribute a particular trait to one particular race, when its common to all races, that's being racist.

Donaire telling this Pinol guy that he'll give him a sonic-boom punch is akin to opponents telling each other that "I'll knock you the fuck out when we meet." It's just harmless but this Pinol guy takes it too fucking personally. Bullet is faster than a sonic-boom punch? That just crosses the line.

Pinol should also realize that he's talking to a young man not some other politician.
