  • Lost much respect for Morales

Morales had to know he was behind BIG TIME going into the championship rounds. How the hell did he not go for a knockout? It looked like he was trying in the 11th round, but in the 12th, you absolutely MUST go for broke when you are down by that much, and Morales did nothing. My motto is if you are completely out of the fight on points, knock your opponent out or get knocked out trying. Morales deserved to lose last night, and even though I was upset he lost, he did it in such a disrespectful way, I lost a bunch of respect for him.

Refusing to shake Barrera's hand after the third fight is fine. They legitimately hate each other, but Morales just looked like a bum last night. He even looked pudgy, which I pointed out during the introductions. This guy thought he could take on Lightweights like Corrales? You've GOT to be joking.

I think to a point ur not giving Raheem enough credit he stayed away the 12th round (he learned his lesson in the 11th) Morales simply couldnt catch up to him.

Dude, you've lost your mind. He boxed as well as he could through out the fight, and he did try to knock him out down the stretch. He just couldn't do anything, his opponent was too fast and too slick. I would imagine Morales's speed must have gone down as well with him going up in weight. Morales is ambitious though, him trying for another title at a higher weight class and all. After the fight he was asked if he would now go back down to 130 or 126, he said never. Looking forward to more Morales fights!

so your saying you've lost respect because he didn't "try to ko him" in the 12th?. How does that make you lose respect? He chased
raheeem in the 12th round but raheem still had energy to box and move

he said he thought he was winning. also, if you're losing and know it, why would you be going for the KO in the last round? doesnt look good to the refs if youre going for a KO in the last round. kind of says, "im desperate and i need this KO." he wants to give the impression that he thinks hes winning. so hes gonna take off the 12th round like he doesnt need it.

Maybe, if Morales wasn't such a head hunter he could have wore him down for the later rounds.

Sounds like you're not giving him his credit. Morales was outboxed.

Raheem may be a p4p fighter indeed, but the point is Morales is not a 135lb fighter and should not have been there. He got rocked by some hard Raheem shots. I'm not saying Morales was hurt, but the fact that Raheem was bullying him around the ring with punches tells me that Morales is a dumbass for being at 135. He thought he could contend with guys like Corrales and Castillo, what an ignorant fool.

On a sidenote, why the hell does Pacquiao still want Morales? That fight loses all meaning after this Morales loss. If Pacquiao wins, big deal. He avenges a loss and nothing else. Morales' loss knocks both Pacquiao and Morales out of the p4p top 10, so it's not like Pacquiao can jump back in with a win over Morales. If Pacquiao loses, he's really screwed. Rematch makes zero sense.

Pacquiao should either rematch Barrera or JM Marquez, not Morales.

If Morales stays at 135, we are going to see more of what we saw on Saturday night.
