He would still learn, only 20 but it must be worrying because he should have correct most of these in his 30 odd fights. I hope GBP take their time with him, But now that they have brought him his first belt he would have guys (Mandatory)queuing up to decapitate him at 154.

        styles make fights, i hope

he was fighting a squirrely little guy who moves around fast but has light hitting abilities and mostly throws hooks.

I hope Canelo was just keeping it nice and tight, he can cover his body well with his elbows and he drops level and pivots to avoid headshots. I hope he kept his head in the center to draw a "from too far out" shot so he could counter.

it's more likely that he's just young, and was determined to look macho. like RJ said, he's a young guy with a lot of fury in his heart, he was in with a guy who he could just settle down and focus on kill kill kill

He DOES have plenty of time to improve from here. I do agree though that he needs to work on his defense and head movement more before going in with the lions, especially at his age. He does seem to have all the tools in his arsenal.

D+ grade Matthew landed a ton of leather on him. Anyone with a good punch at 154 will put him on the ground.

I still think he'll beat JCC Jr. though.

To be fair he didn't keep his hands up much or bother as much with the defense because he realized very early in the fight that Hatton's punches were only going to tickle him.

He's gonna learn the hard way, I say a better trainer will fix that real quick. Since he is narely blowing up he will be surrounded by yes men. You think his current trainer will get in his face and force a change, specially right now?? No way man. There is some major cash to be made by his trainer ahead, no way he risks losing that.

williams came forward with his chin up and out in the air.

canelo is a sustained beating waiting to happen if he runs into a real junior middleweight with a good chin and skills who has speed

this will be a test of the abilities of goldenboy to move a fighter carefully more than anything else
