I'ma be real honest right now, that fight last night was farce, real talk. But when were gonna start criticizing some ****,lets start at the heart of it.At the very lest it wasn't on ppv.At the very least it didn't include the best fighter on the planet. It won't stop of fight fans show up to pay for the ppv's,but get mad at the network fights for free.

Don't forget to make this thread next week about showtime. Mayorga vs Cotto is garbage as well. Why not vanes and Cotto on showtime.
I agree that WBC is a joke but do you really think Arum is going to match Cotto and Martinez before he makes Cotto Margarito? Cotto vs Mayorga is a payday for Cotto before the Margs fight. Anyway my point in this thread was to point out the hypocrisy of HBO of saying they only want quality fights and then showing that crap last night with an unproven fighter and a guy with not even a punchers chance.

Well who's with Golden boy and who's not with Golden boy?

Hence why HBO buys certain fighters, not fights, but fighters. It all has to do with who they're in bed with.

They have a deal with GBP.

I agree... it is a major disrespect to cotto that hbo would skip cotto/mayorga and put on the ginger kid vs matt hatton.

They keep d*cking my boy Martinez around because he keeps beating their top stars. HBO can't have all their wanna be cash cows fighting him because he will end their careers, so they feed him the toughest challenge they can in Dzinziruk at the lowest risk, he is not a star so when Martinez beats him, they aren't losing much.

I agree this fight for Martinez is all risk and little reward. Im not mad that HBO didn't want Cotto vs Vanes and Martinez vs Lee but to say you dont want them because of the quality of the matchups and then broadcast a sparring session last night with an unproven fighter is inexcusable.

I agree with you man, it's time for HBO to get off of Golden Boys balls, it already cost them the Pacquiao fight. I am not buying the Alvarez Kool aid either, first time he steps up to real competition, he gets knocked out.

I know, they just don't want to sacrifice their earning potentials right now. They seem to want to hype up Vanes, and Lee has a big Irish following and Chavez Jr is their meal ticket so those guys are gonna get relatively easy fights to showcase them. Alvarez isn't gonna fight a top guy that is a real threat until they milk him at least 4 more fights.
